Self-Paced Course: Promoting Health Equity in Tobacco Cessation: Evidence Based Strategies

12.14.2023 This 30 minute introductory level course focuses on removing barriers to accessing proven tobacco cessation treatment methods with a focus on populations with low socioeconomic status (SES) characteristics. This course was developed using the Transtheoretical Model of Behavior Change as a guiding framework, underscoring best and promising practices in engaging and supporting populations most impacted by tobacco-related disparities. By integrating these components, this course equips state department of health employees and their community partners with the tools to support individuals in quitting tobacco, reduce tobacco-related disparities and healthcare costs.
