Event Details
As 2025 comes to a close, the public health environment continues to evolve, presenting new opportunities and considerations for our collective efforts. The Community Approaches Training & Technical Assistance Hub continues to support public health organizations and their partners to reduce the toll of cancer and commercial tobacco on low-income populations.
Bring your warm beverage of choice and join us for an end of year webinar that will fill your cup. The CA Hub Training Team will reflect on what’s shaped public health based on what we’ve heard from our network this year, highlight bright spots, and share practical tools and solutions. We will start with a walkthrough of the CA Hub’s resources and how they can support you through common challenges. We will then facilitate a conversation where attendees can share what’s on their minds and their goals for the coming year. The ASTHO team that supports the Tobacco Control Network (TCN) will also be there to listen and share resources. Register for the webinar here!
After this webinar, attendees will be able to:
-Describe resources that address commonly shared challenges in the tobacco prevention and control workforce
-Discuss approaches shared by peers and potential applications to their local context.

Million Hearts®’ Live to the Beat (LTTB) national campaign offers practical tools that help encourage communities to take small, achievable steps toward better heart health – including moving more, eating better, and quitting smoking. The campaign’s adaptable messages, readymade assets, and Community Ambassador network make it easy to strengthen chronic disease efforts, expand heart health outreach, and promote tobacco cessation in the Black community.
In this session, participants will see how LTTB can be tailored to reach communities experiencing health disparities. The presenters will highlight real partnership examples, share simple ways to activate campaign tools quickly, and explore opportunities to build on what your team is already doing with community outreach and public communications. Register for the webinar here!
After this webinar, attendees will be able to:
-Describe the core components of the Live to the Beat (LTTB) campaign.
-Describe ways to integrate LTTB tools to support state or local chronic disease prevention priorities, including tobacco cessation.
-Identify at least one immediate or longer‑term action to leverage the LTTB campaign.

Are you trying to get more impact, capacity, or clarity from a partnership that isn’t quite delivering? Do you need more from a collaborative partner?
In today’s public health environment, effective partnerships are essential to advance programs, sustain initiatives, and meaningfully engage communities most affected by health inequities. This interactive workshop introduces the Collaboration Continuum as a practical framework to assess, strengthen, and adapt collaborative relationships to better support program goals and population health outcomes. Presenters will highlight strategies for initiating, managing, maintaining, and recalibrating partnerships as needs, contexts, and capacity change.
Participants will engage in discussion-based activities to assess a real‑world partnership and identify concrete strategies to move it to a more effective and sustainable level. To prepare, attendees are encouraged to identify a current partnership or collaborative relationship to focus on during the session. Register for the workshop!
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
-Identify strategies for adapting collaborative relationships to enhance programmatic outcomes for populations experiencing health disparities
-Define the key steps along the collaboration continuum
-Differentiate the appropriate collaborative relationships needed to move your public health initiatives forward with partners

Thriving communities depend on systems that prevent illness, not just treat it. When state and community leaders collaborate to strengthen prevention efforts, communities experience better health outcomes, lower costs, and stronger local economies.
This summit brought together leaders and practitioners from across sectors to explore practical approaches to prevention that can be sustained over time, even as conditions change. The emphasis was on improving the reach and impact of evidence-based interventions to reduce the burden of chronic disease on our communities.
The agenda balanced shared learning with small‑group interaction, allowing participants to learn from one another and leave with clearer next steps.
